Last Week with Elder Acuña

Hello!

This was a cold week, but im keeping warm! I’m sleeping with a hoodie, pants, and 2 blankets so I keep warm! Today is freezing tho... but anyway, we’re good. 

We received a call Friday night and they told us Elder Acuña’s papers (visa to his mission in Brazil) got to the offices, and that Tuesday morning (tomorrow) he is leaving for Sao Paulo. So we had a party Saturday night, worked all day yesterday, and tonight we have a couple appointments and a family home evening with a family so it’s going to be good! I think we are going to make tacos tonight.

Anyway, I’d like to share something that is a little anecdote, but we can learn something from it. Yesterday, I shared a story that I realized I hadn’t shared in a really long time. It was the first time my companion’s had heard me tell it. I’m going to copy what Elder Freitas wrote to his family this week because he wrote the story down! It’s in Portuguese but I hope you can read it... :)

“I wanted to tell a story I heard from my companion this week that is a joke but we learned a lot from it!
It's the donkey story.

Once there was a donkey coming into town carrying a man on his back and everyone was happy and joyful. They gave him food and everything... And the donkey came home afterwards and went to talk to his mother: ‘Mother, mother! Everyone was happy when I passed the street of the city today, they gave me food to eat and everything! I was carrying a man in the back, and this man was Jesus.’
Then his mother said: ‘Son, pass on this street again and tell me what happens.’
He went and no one said anything. Some even hit him.
He came home sad and said: ‘But mother, why they did this?’
She said: ‘Son, without Jesus you are only a donkey.’

Poor donkey! KKK.

So this is the story of the donkey that carried Jesus when he arrived in Jerusalem.
Well, I've learned a lot from this story or joke if you wanna call.Really, without Jesus we are nothing."

This was a good week teaching wise. We found a couple of old investigators who want to take the lessons again so I hope they can progress this time around. Our other investigators are doing well! We only had Isabel that came to church this last week, so that was tough but I hope we can find these people who didn’t come.

Today, President Smith called and invited us to come and eat lunch with him, so I’m sorry but that’s why we don’t have much time, because it takes us like 2 hours to get to president’s house from Soldati. President wants to say goodbye to Elder Acuña so he invited us to come to lunch with him. 

This week we have interviews! I think we are going to have them on Tuesday! We’re not so sure yet!

This week I did divisions with Elder Dotta from Uruguay! We made pancakes! Saturday night we had a party and bought pizza because we found out Elder Acuña is leaving on Tuesday morning! :(

Última Semana com Elder Acuña

Olá!

Esta foi uma semana fria, mas eu estou agasalhado! Eu estou dormindo com uma blusa com capuz, calças e 2 cobertores, então eu fico quente! Hoje está congelando ... mas, de qualquer forma, estamos bem.

Recebemos um telefonema sexta-feira à noite e nos disseram que os papéis de Elder Acuna chegaram aos escritórios e que na manhã de terça-feira (amanhã) ele estará viajando para São Paulo. Então, tivemos uma festa na noite de sábado, trabalhamos durante todo o dia ontem, e hoje a noite temos alguns horarios marcados e uma noite familiar com uma família, então será bom! Eu acho que vamos fazer tacos esta noite.

De qualquer forma, gostaria de compartilhar algo que é uma pequena anedota, mas podemos aprender algo com isso. Ontem, eu compartilhei uma história que percebi que não havia compartilhado em muito tempo. Foi a primeira vez que meu companheiro me ouviu contar. Eu vou copiar o que Elder Freitas escreveu para sua família esta semana porque ele escreveu a história completa. Está em português, mas espero que você possa lê-la. :)

Corte de sua carta:

“Queria contar uma historia que ouvi do meu companheiro essa semana que é uma piada mas aprendemos muito com ela!
É a historia do Burro.

Uma vez estava o burro chegando na cidade levando um homem em suas costas e todos estavam felizes e gritando. Deram-lhe de comer e tudo.. E o burro chegou em casa depois e foi falar com sua mãe: ‘Mãe, mãe, todos estavam felizes quando eu passei na rua da cidade hoje, me deram de comer e tudo mais! Eu estava carregando um homem nas costas, e esse homem era Jesus.’
Então sua mãe disse: filho passe nessa rua de novo e me diz o que acontece.
Ele foi e quando passou ninguem disse nada, alguns até bateram nele.
Ele voltou triste para casa e disse: ‘Mas mãe, porque fizeram isso?’
Ela disse: ‘Filho, sem Jesus você é só um burro.’

KKKK coitado.

É a historia do burro que levava Jesus quando chegou em Jerusalem.
Bom, aprendi muito com essa historia ou piada. Realmente sem Jesus não somos nada.”

Esta foi uma boa semana ensinando. Encontramos alguns investigadores antigos que desejam receber as lições novamente, então espero que possam progredir desta vez. Nossos outros investigadores estão indo bem! Nós só tivemos Isabel que veio à igreja na última semana, então foi difícil, mas espero que possamos encontrar essas pessoas que não vieram.

Hoje, o Presidente Smith nos ligou e convidou-nos para almoçar com ele, então desculpe-me, mas é por isso que não temos muito tempo, porque leva-nos 2 horas para chegar à casa do presidente a partir de Soldati. O presidente quer despedir-se do Élder Acuña, então ele nos convidou para almoçar com ele.
 

Esta semana, temos entrevistas! Eu acho que vamos ter na terça-feira! Ainda não temos certeza!

Esta semana eu fiz divisões com Elder Dotta do Uruguai! Nós fizemos panquecas! Na noite de sábado, tivemos uma festa e compramos pizza porque descobrimos que Elder Acuña está saindo na terça-feira de manhã! :(
