Almost 100 days!

Thats crazy to think that Christmas is that close! The only thing is that it's gonna be a normal working day for me this Christmas! Other then Skyping you I'm pretty sure it's going to be the same! because i still have to go out and work!

Tell us a funny story that happened this week.

Me and my companion were walking down the street this week in the villa, and we saw this mural up on the wall! That was really funny! It was John the Baptist and Jesus doing a baptism but what was funny was that John was putting water on Jesus head like the Catholic church does! haha Oh it was so funny! Where in the Bible does it even say that?? But yeah that was painted outside a Catholic church and we just thought it was hilarious.

Tell us a miracle that you recognized this week.

A miracle that happened to us this week was that we found this family who wants to come to church! they couldn't this Sunday but it was crazy what happened. because we were knocking on a door of a reference that we got and the reference wasn't home, but their neighbors were. We talk to this guy and he told us that he and his family went to our church is Paraguay, but they haven't been ever since they've moved to Argentina. He said he was visiting his mom because she is sick, that he lived outside the city like in the border of Paraguay, but he said his mom has been drinking a lot because his sister died and he wants us to help her. The next day we went by but she wasn't home, but one of her daughters was! So we talked to her and she really wants to come back to church, she gave us the address of her other sister who lives in the villa too and we contacted her and she was the same! So it's been an awesome miracle to find them and bring them back to church! The only thing that's a little weird is that they aren't baptized, like none of them are. So we have to find out why especially if they went to our church in Paraguay. We also see some other problems like they aren't married and they are just living together, but we  are trying our best to work on them and get them active again and so they can get baptized! We've had amazing spiritual lessons with them so we will see how it goes this next week!

How does your mission president inspire you?

To be honest I don't really see him, he is too busy doing other things but when you do see him he is really kind and just wants us to work and work some more! He is really motivating and awesome so it's going to suck when we get the new one, hopefully he will be nice.

What do you love about your mission?

What I love about my mission is just being out here to be honest. Cause if you think about it, I'm a 19 year old boy in Argentina teaching people about Jesus, and that's pretty sweet ;), but yeah just being out here everyday trying to help people come to know the truth is really life changing, because we are declaring all our time to his work.

Tell us about an answer to a prayer you had this week.

An answer to a prayer would be to just find people. We've been struggling because we can't find any people who want or can progress! Literally everyone we talk to isn't married and is just living together which really sucks. so this family we found was really nice, they do have their problems too but we hope they are really and chosen to change and become baptized.

What are your goals and vision for this transfer?

Just the missions vision, to find, teach, and baptize. Other then that I don't know of any goals, other then how us as a zone want to baptize 13 people this transfer.

How are your investigators, lessons, members this week?

We get lots of lessons every week and lots of new people. The only problem is what I said earlier. everyone we find cant or doesn't want to progress, because they are happy where they are or whatever. so that's frustrating.

What do you usually do on your P-day?

Mostly what we do on p days is play basketball, go eat, then write cause there really isn't that much time. because our p day is really from 10:15 in the morning, and we have to be ready to leave and work at 6:00 p.m. so there isn't a lot of time. but we usually play basketball or the zone gets together and plays soccer or something like that. its pretty limited tho because our chapels are about an hour apart so it really takes up our time to do that.

What have you studied this week that you would like us to study?

To be honest I haven't gotten that much time to study this week, but when I have I've been studying Elder Perry's last talk. It's just kind of hard to understand because its in Spanish. but that and I've also been studying how to find people to teach and your first encounters with people, like when we first talk to people we try to go through the filters which are, do they believe in God, do they have a family, are they married, do they work on Sundays, do they have a desire to listen and change their lives. That's how we find people. 

Thank you for everything! This transfer I think I might be going to the mission home like every Friday because Elder Kelly is in the choir but I'm not sure. So like this past Friday I got mail so that was fun!

Eu e meu companheiro estávamos andando numa rua da vila essa semana, e vimos um mural pintado nessa parede que era muito engraçado. João Batista batizando Jesus jogando um pouco de água na cabeça de Jesus como os católicos fazem. Onde na Bíblia tem isso? Estava pintado no paredão de uma igreja católica e achamos hilário.

Conte-nos um milagre que aconteceu esta semana com vocês.

Um milagre que aconteceu esta semana foi que encontramos essa família que quer vir à Igreja! Eles não podiam neste domingo, mas foi muito louco o que aconteceu, porque nós batemos na porta de um contato que era referência mas a pessoa não estava em casa, mas os vizinhos estavam. Então conversamos com esse homem que nos disse que ele e sua família frequentavam a Igreja no Paraguai, mas eles não vão desde que mudaram para a Argentina. Ele disse que estava visitando a mãe dele porque ela estava doente, e que ele vive fora da cidade na fronteira com o Paraguai. Ele disse que sua mãe estava bebendo muito porque sua irmã tinha falecido e pediu que pudéssemos ajudá-la. No dia seguinte nós fomos novamente mas ela não estava em casa, mas uma das filhas estava. Então, conversamos com ela e ela quer voltar para a Igreja. Ela nos deu o endereço de outra irmã que também mora na mesma vila, e nós a contatamos e ela também quer voltar para a igreja! Então foi um milagre maravilhoso encontrá-los e vamos trabalhar para reativá-los. A única coisa mais estranha é que todos eles não são batizados, tipo, nenhum deles, então teremos que descobrir o porque, se é porque não são casados e estão somente morando juntos. Mas estamos tentando nosso melhor com eles, temos tido lições super espirituais então vamos ver o que acontece nesta semana.

Como seu presidente de missão lhe inspira?

Para ser honesto, eu não o vejo muito, ele está ocupado com outras coisas, mas quando o vemos, ele é muito gentil e quer que trabalhemos e trabalhemos um pouco mais! Ele sabe como nos motivar e vamos sentir falta quando o novo presidente vier, espero que ele seja legal.

O que você ama sobre sua missão?

O que amo sobre minha missão é apenas estar aqui. Porque se você pensar sobre isso, eu sou um rapaz de 19 anos aqui na Argentina ensinando as pessoas sobre Jesus, e isso é muito joia. J Mas sim, apenas estando aqui todos os dias tentando ajudar as pessoas a conhecer a verdade é realmente uma mudança de vida, porque estamos declarando a todos o trabalho Dele.

Conte-nos sobre uma resposta a uma oração que vocês tiveram esta semana.

Uma resposta à oração seria apenas encontrar pessoas. Nós temos passado dificuldades porque não encontramos pessoas que queiram progredir! Literalmente todos que conversamos não são casados e estão apenas morando juntos o que é um saco, então esta família que encontramos, embora também tenham os seus problemas, são ótimos, e espero que eles realmente queiram mudar e se batizar.

Quais são suas metas e visão para esta transferência?

Apenas a visão da missão, encontrar, ensinar e batizar. Além disso eu não sei de outras metas, a não ser que nossa meta como zona nesta transferência é batizar 13 pessoas.

Como estão seus investigadores, membros e lições esta semana?

Nós ensinamos muitas lições todas as semanas e encontramos muita gente nova. O único problema como eu disse antes, todos que encontramos ou não querem progredir, ou estão felizes com suas vidas, então é frustrante.

O que você normalmente faz no seu p-day?

Na maioria das vezes jogamos basquete, daí vamos comer, e escrever, porque realmente não há muito tempo porque o p-day é das 10:15 da manhã, e daí temos que estar prontos para trabalhar às 6 da tarde, então não há muito tempo. Normalmente encontramos os outros missionários da zona e jogamos basquete ou futebol, e o tempo é limitado porque a capela é uma hora de viagem, então leva bastante tempo somente indo de um lugar para outro.

O que você estudou essa semana que gostaria que estudássemos?

Eu não tive tempo para estudar muito essa semana, mas quando o fiz tenho estudado o último discurso de Elder Perry. É apenas um pouco difícil de entender por causa do Espanhol, mas eu também tenho estudado sobre como encontrar pessoas para ensinar, o que dizemos na primeira conversa, ou seja, quando conversamos a primeira vez com alguém geralmente filtramos a pessoa, tipo, perguntamos se ela acredita em Deus, se tem uma família, se são casados, se trabalham no domingo, se ele tem o desejo de ouvir e aprender e mudar sua vida. Assim é como encontramos as pessoas.

Obrigado por tudo! Esta transferência eu acho que irei várias vezes à casa da missão provavelmente toda sexta, porque Elder Kelly está no coral mas eu não tenho certeza. Então, esta sexta passada eu coletei minhas cartas então foi muito bom!
