Goals and 6 months in!

I completed 6 months on the mission this past 29th! That’s exciting. But anyway we had a pretty good week this past week. We had a really hard working week and we were able to achieve the goals we planned for this week. We are also bettering our relationship with the members and more and more members are starting to help us out now.

I have pictures of our apartment this week! We sleep on bunk beds and I’m on the bottom! We don’t have an air conditioner but we do have a fan to help us out, that keeps a room pretty cool so that’s nice. Lately it’s been really hot here like around 35 degrees’ Celsius so we get pretty cooked during the day. Some nights are really hot so it’s hard to fall asleep but we are so tired that we fall asleep fast anyway, so that doesn’t bother us. What does bother us is the mosquitoes! There are so many here! It’s horrible, during the day (when its blazing hot outside) they aren’t so bad but in the morning and in the night it gets really ugly! They are having problems down here with like dengue and zica but as far as we know we are doing fine.

That’s pretty crazy how the ward changed, that’s pretty sweet tho. It’s pretty sad how some people won’t be in our ward anymore but what can we do. The new leaders that were called sound like they are going to do a great job! Tell all of them that I say hello and wish them good luck.

Last time I heard about that video [we did as a mission for Christmas] was during the Christmas party we had, and they said they were gonna put it on there! So I hope they do, because I have no idea.

Yes we do drink lots of soda but I’ve kept myself pretty good. For the past like 4 months I’ve limited soda for myself so I mostly drink water, juice, and milk. One because I don’t like that much soda, and two because I don’t wanna drink a lot of soda, so there you go. But yeah there is a ton of water you can buy and all that so I’m good. health wise it’s been a great week.

Tell (tia Camila) happy birthday for me!

The pictures of the storm look great, but.... even tho I’m in the blazing heat right now, I love it! I like the heat so I’m happy here. I don’t really miss snow that much.

We go to san Fernando, our offices, like 1 or 2 times a transfer. We here in Don Torcuato get to go more because we are in the same zone as the offices. And yes my zone leader Elder Sureda does look like me a little bit.

We are in the district of Don Torcuato in the Stake Litoral. (I think that’s what it’s all called...)

I want to share something we saw this week. This week we got the opportunity to watch that one video with the little kids and the marshmallows. The one where they were put in a room and were told that if they waited 15 minutes they could have a second marshmallow. I really like this video, because it shows how patience can bring so many blessings. If we are just patient with things in life we will be blessed. I know that simple doctrine is so true. I’ve seen on my mission how patience affects people and others and I promise that if we are more patient, we will receive so much more.

Olá! Nova semana, novas experiências!

Eu completei 6 meses na missão neste dia 29 de janeiro! Isso é emocionante. Mas de qualquer maneira nós tivemos uma boa semana na semana passada. Tivemos uma semana realmente onde trabalhamos duro e fomos capazes de alcançar as metas que planejamos para esta semana. Nós também estamos melhorando o nosso relacionamento com os membros e mais e mais membros estão começando a nos ajudar agora.

Eu tenho fotos do nosso apartamento esta semana! Nós dormimos em camas beliche e eu durmo na cama de baixo! Não temos um ar condicionado, mas nós temos um ventilador para ajudar-nos, que mantém um ambiente fresco, de modo que é bom. Ultimamente tem sido muito quente aqui como  em torno de 35 graus Celsius, de forma que ficamos praticamente cozidos durante o dia. Algumas noites são realmente quentes por isso é difícil adormecer, mas estamos tão cansados ​​que nós adormecemos rápido de qualquer maneira, de modo que não nos incomoda. O que nos incomoda é que temos muitos mosquitos! Há tantos aqui! É horrível, durante o dia (quando o sol resplandece super quente) eles não são tão ruins, mas na parte da manhã e à noite fica muito feio! Eles estão tendo problemas  aqui com dengue e zica mas, tanto quanto sabemos estamos indo bem.

Isso é muito louco como o ala mudou, mas tambem é muito legal. É muito triste ver como algumas pessoas não vão estar em nossa ala mais, mas o que podemos fazer. Os novos líderes que foram chamados parecem que farão um grande trabalho! Diga a todos eles que eu disse Olá e desejo-lhes boa sorte.

Última vez que ouvi sobre esse vídeo [que fizemos como missão para o Natal] foi durante a festa de Natal que tivemos, e eles disseram que estavam indo colocá-lo no Facebook! Então, eu espero que eles coloquem, porque eu não tenho idéia.

Sim, nós bebemos muito refrigerante, mas eu estou conseguindo me manter bem. No passado como por 4 meses eu tenho limitado o refrigerante e estou tomando principalmente água, suco e leite. Um, porque eu não gosto de muito refrigerante e dois, porque eu não quero beber muito refrigerante. Mas sim, há uma tonelada de água que você pode comprar e tudo o que assim que eu sou bom. Quanto a minha saúde, tem sido uma grande semana.

Diga a (tia Camila) feliz aniversário para mim!

As imagens da tempestadede neve sao otimas, mas .... até mesmo que eu esteja no calor escaldante agora, eu adoro isso! Eu gosto do calor, então eu estou feliz aqui. Eu realmente não tenho muita saudade da neve. 

Vamos para San Fernando, nossos escritórios, 1 ou 2 vezes por transferência. Nós aqui em Don Torcuato começamos a ir mais porque estamos na mesma zona que os escritórios. E sim o meu líder de zona Elder Sureda se parece comigo um pouco.

Estamos no distrito de Don Torcuato na Estaca Litoral. (Acho que é isso que é chamado de tudo ...) 

Quero compartilhar algo que vimos esta semana. Esta semana tivemos a oportunidade de assistir a um vídeo que com as crianças pequenas e os marshmallows. Aquele onde eles foram colocados em uma sala e foram informados de que, se eles esperassem 15 minutos poderiam ter um segundo marshmallow. Eu realmente gosto deste vídeo, porque mostra como a paciência pode trazer tantas bênçãos. Se nós formos mais pacientes com coisas na vida seremos abençoados. Eu sei que esta doutrina simples é tão verdadeira. Eu já a vi acontecer na minha missão e ver como paciência afeta as pessoas e outros e eu prometo que, se formos mais pacientes, receberemos muito mais.
