Feliz Pascua!!

Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Honestly, it was an alright week this week. Well, it was more like a bad week filled with good things. Three days this week we were in the pension because my companion is sick. He is having back problems (we think its nerve problems) but we couldn’t go to the hospital because it was Pascua so he has an appointment this Friday at the clinic. Something I’ve noticed here in Argentina is that they have a holiday like every other week so for us that sometimes makes stuff easier but usually it makes everything harder, but he is doing alright, just in some pain.

Yesterday we also had the baptism of David! He’s a capo (that means stud)! He was super ready to take that step in his life and me and elder Fleming are really happy we could be there to help him! David is awesome and I hope the best for him, we think he’s probably going to be a stake president someday, he is great.

We didn’t have dinner on Easter... we didn’t even have lunch.... hahaha yeah that happened. We have pictures of what we did eat though... ;) So yeah wait for those. We did get a little bag of chocolates from a member so that was great, but other than that our Easter was basically our baptism!

If everything goes right, in the next 3 weeks we should have like 5 baptisms.... so hopefully all that works out! Tonight we have a meeting with a family of 3 people that could get baptized, so please pray for them, they are the family Pacheco. We also have other possibilities but they won’t be fijo until the end of this week (I think) so don’t worry about them. Thank you for everything you guys do for us!

About the video with Elder Bednar conference in South America south - Oh sweet I didn’t know that video was going to come out. 

I’m really excited for General Conference this week! I hope that we can all take advantage of the time we have this weekend to listen to the words of the prophets. I know they are all called of God and receive revelation for each one of us. I promise that whatever question you have, you will be answered this weekend if you watch all the conference sessions. We as missionaries don’t get the opportunity to watch the priesthood session (because it starts at like 10pm here) but I know that’s going to be great too!

Pics 7 and 8 - Right after interviews we went and ate some Peruvian food! The first one was some of those sticks with meet (don’t know what they are called in English...) and the second plate is called arroz chaufa! It is SO GOOD! I probably ate like half of that and took it home but it’s really good!

Pics 9 and 10 - Oh and this last Friday we also had a talent show! That was great! Lots of people came!

Pics 17 and 18 - Us with him right after the baptism, and yeah... he bought a suit for his baptism! He is a great guy and will do great things in the church.

Pics 19 and 20 - Alright the first picture is a picture of our "Easter feast" on Sunday.... haha yeah our lunch canceled on us... and no one invited us for dinner but that’s alright, we found a packet of mashed potatoes in the kitchen so we made that! Just great memories from the mission! :)

The second picture is a picture of this wall that President Ayre has at his house... it’s a wall of all the wedding invitations from all the returned missionaries that President Ayre has had in his time here! This wall made me so trunky... just because being out here on the mission... well at least for me, but... I’ve just had a bigger and bigger desire to get married when I return. Just because you meet so many good people here that are married, and we meet so many not so good people out here that aren’t married that have so many problems with their marriage or their spouse... and I’m just like, "Holy crap! I can’t wait to get home and get married to a girl that’s going to love me for the rest of forever", because that’s how it’s got to be, a family centered in Christ is going to be a family that lasts forever.

Espero que todos tenham tido uma Feliz Páscoa!

Honestamente, foi uma semana boa. Bem, foi mais como uma má semana cheia de coisas boas. Três dias da semana estávamos na pensão, porque meu companheiro está doente. Ele está tendo problemas nas costas (nós achamos que seja algum problema nervoso), mas nós não pudemos ir ao hospital porque era Pascua então ele tem um horario marcado nesta proxima sexta-feira na clínica. Algo que notei aqui na Argentina é que eles têm um feriado quase toda semana, então para nós isso às vezes poderia fazer as coisas mais fáceis, mas geralmente torna tudo mais difícil, mas ele está bem, apenas com algumas dores.

Ontem tivemos também o batismo de David! Ele é muito bom! Ele estava super pronto para dar esse passo em sua vida e eu e Elder Fleming estamos realmente felizes por poder estar lá para ajudá-lo! David é incrível e eu desejo o melhor a ele, acho que ele provavelmente vai ser um presidente de estaca, um dia, ele é muito bom.

Nós não tivemos onde jantar na Páscoa... nós nem sequer tivemos almoço .... hahaha sim foi isso que aconteceu. Temos fotos do que fizemos de comer ...;) Então, sim espere por elas. Nós conseguimos um pacotinho de chocolates de um membro e foi ótimo, mas a nossa Páscoa foi basicamente o nosso batismo!

Se tudo der certo, nas próximas 3 semanas teremos tipo 5 batismos .... por isso espero que tudo isso funcione! Hoje à noite nós temos uma reunião com uma família de 3 pessoas que podem ser batizados, então por favor ore por eles, eles são a Família Pacheco. Temos também outras possibilidades, mas eles não serão certos até o final desta semana (eu acho), então não se preocupe com eles. Obrigado por tudo que vocês fazem para nós!

Sobre o vídeo com o Élder Bednar na conferência que tivemos aqui na area sul da América do Sul - Oh doce Eu não sabia que o vídeo ficaria disponivel!

Estou muito animado para a Conferência Geral desta semana! Espero que todos nós possamos aproveitar o tempo que teremos neste fim de semana para ouvir as palavras dos profetas. Eu sei que eles são todos chamados de Deus e recebem revelação para cada um de nós. Eu prometo que qualquer pergunta que vocês tiverem serão respondidas neste fim de semana se vocês assistirem a todas as sessões da Conferência. Nós, como missionários não temos a oportunidade de assistir a sessão do Sacerdócio (porque começa às 22:00hs aqui), mas eu sei que serão maravilhosas demais!

Esta parede me fez tão saudoso de casa ... só porque estar aqui na missão ... bem, pelo menos para mim, mas ... Eu só tive um desejo cada vez maior de me casar quando eu voltar. Só porque você conhece tantas pessoas boas aqui que são casadas, e conhece tantas pessoas não tão boas aqui que não são casados ​​que têm tantos problemas com seu casamento ou seu cônjuge ... e eu pensei, "Caramba! Hello everyone! Hope you’ve all had a great week.

We had an alright week, some things didn’t go according to plan but were still going! If everything goes alright this week we should have the baptism of David! So we are praying for him about that.

Elder Fleming and I are doing well together. Elder Fleming and I are finding new people to teach...

Apart from David that’s going to get baptized this week we have other investigators that are progressing. Clara has a baptismal date for the 3rd; she is the sister of Jesus. And then we have Ita and Santiago that have a date for the 10^th, so I hope everything turns around here! Me and Elder Tito and Elder Fleming have been working hard and we are changing things here in Don Torcuato! Thank you for praying for us and for our investigators. :)

The weather this past week was weird, because it was cold but then we had like 2 or 3 random days where it was super-hot. But yeah I’m starting to sleep without the fan and with covers now so that’s different. And if you knew me, you know I hate the cold so I hope we have a mild winter.

Yeah I’ve seen [those Spanish and other exercises online] but I don’t do it. I’ve learned a lot more from just opening my mouth and talking to people on the street, because you learn [the language] by messing up sometimes, like Elder Fleming doesn’t talk the best Spanish but we talk to each other and help each other out so we can learn together.

This week we bought some clothes and I bought a watch. In the mission field, we as missionaries don’t have to pay tithing. But we do pay fast offerings on fast Sunday.

This week I was studying D&C 20. It talks about the responsibilities of the members of the Church and it’s really good! I want to invite you all and especially the Priesthood holders to read this section, because I found out things that I didn’t know.

I know blessings come if we do everything we are supposed to. And most of the time, those blessing won’t come when we expect them to.

Olá a todos! Espero que você tenham todos tido uma grande semana.

Tivemos uma semana boa, algumas coisas não sairam conforme o planejado, mas ainda estavam indo bem! Se tudo correr bem, esta semana devemos ter o batismo de David! Então, nós estamos orando por ele sobre isso.

Elder Fleming e eu estamos trabalhando bem juntos. Eu e Elder Fleming estamos encontrando novas pessoas para ensinar ...

Além de David que vai ser batizado esta semana temos outros pesquisadores que estão progredindo. Clara tem uma data de batismo para o dia 3 de abril; ela é a irmã de Jesus. E nós temos Ita e Santiago que têm uma data para o dia 10, então eu espero que tudo vá bem aqui! Eu e Elder Tito e Elder Fleming temos trabalhado duro e nós estamos mudando as coisas aqui em Don Torcuato! Obrigado pelas orações por nós e por nossos investigadores. :)

O clima na semana passada estava estranho, porque estava frio, mas depois tivemos como 2 ou 3 dias aleatórios onde estava super-quente. Mas sim, eu estou começando a dormir sem o ventilador e com cobertas de modo que agora é diferente. E se você me conhece, você sabe que eu odeio o frio, então eu espero que nós tenhamos um inverno ameno.

Sim, eu vi [os exercícios em espanhol e outros online], mas eu não os farei por enquanto. Eu aprendi muito mais a partir de apenas abrir a boca e falar com as pessoas na rua, porque você aprende [a língua] por bagunçar às vezes, Cpmo Elder Fleming não fala o melhor espanhol, falamos um com o outro e ajudamos um ao outro, para que possamos aprender juntos.

Esta semana nós compramos algumas roupas e eu comprei um relógio. No campo missionário, nós, como missionários não temos de pagar o dízimo, mas nós fazemos ofertas de jejum no domingo de jejum.

Esta semana eu estava estudando D&C 20, que fala sobre as responsabilidades dos membros da Igreja e é realmente bom! Eu quero convidar a todos vocês e especialmente os portadores do sacerdócio para lerem esta seção, porque eu descobri coisas que eu não conhecia.

Eu sei que as bênçãos vêm se fizermos tudo o que precisamos fazer. E a maior parte do tempo, aquelas bênçãos não virão quando nós queremos que venham, mas no tempo do Senhor.
