Hello!

We had a good week! Jazmin was baptized! We didn’t have time to take our cameras but I’ll see if we can get the members to pass us the pictures!

This week in my studies, I’ve learned about never giving up. As I thought and studied in the scriptures, the more growth, miracles, and answers come when we persist when we don’t want to go anymore. As if everyone who lifts weights knows that the growth of your muscles comes in that last repetition, when your arms are burning and you just want to put the weight back on the rack. In the scriptures, I read about the mission of the sons of Mosiah to the lamanites, they were teaching them for about 14 or 15 years. I bet they felt tired and felt like giving up, but they didn’t, because they knew that their mission was to save souls, just like us.

In Mosiah 28:3 it says, “Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble."

I’m positive this drove them through their missions, and it’s a great example for us as well that whenever we feel like giving up, we should always remember them and our Savior. He loves us and wants to see us succeed. We grow when we persist at those times we think we cannot go anymore. I have learned so much on my mission, that lately I have found myself really tired, and the best thing to do when you’re tired is stand in a corner and just talk to everyone that’s walking by! jaja

Most of our investigators that were progressing fell through this week... we hope we can recuperate most of them but we are trying to find more and more people to teach. My companion and I have goals to talk to over 40 people every day on the street and around members so we hope we can keep finding those the Lord is preparing for us through all the work we are doing.

Olá!

Tivemos uma boa semana! Jazmin foi batizada! Nós não tivemos tempo de levar nossas câmeras, mas vou ver se podemos conseguir que os membros nos passem as fotos!

Esta semana em meus estudos, aprendi a nunca desistir. Enquanto pensava e estudava as escrituras, notei que o maior crescimento, milagres e respostas chegam quando não queremos seguir mais. Como se todos os que levantam pesos sabem que o crescimento de seus músculos vem naquela última repetição, quando seus braços estão queimando e você só quer colocar o peso de volta no rack. Nas escrituras, leio sobre a missão dos filhos de Mosiah aos lamanitas, eles estavam ensinando-os por cerca de 14 ou 15 anos. Aposto que eles se sentiram cansados ​​e sentiram vontade de desistir, mas não o fizeram, porque sabiam que sua missão era salvar almas, assim como nós.

Em Mosias 28: 3 diz: "Ora, eles desejavam que a salvação fosse declarada a toda criatura, porque não podiam suportar que qualquer alma humana se perdesse; e até mesmo a ideia de que alguma alma tivesse de sofrer o tormento eterno fazia-os tremer e estremecer."

Estou certo de que isso os levou às suas missões, e é um ótimo exemplo para nós, sempre que desejamos desistir, sempre devemos lembrar deles e do nosso Salvador. Ele nos ama e quer nos ver ter sucesso. Crescemos quando persistimos no momento que pensamos que não podemos seguir mais. Aprendi muito com a minha missão, que ultimamente encontro-me realmente cansado, e a melhor coisa a fazer quando você está cansado é ficar na esquina e falar com todos que estão passando! Jaja

A maioria de nossos pesquisadores que estavam progredindo cairam nesta semana... esperamos que possamos recuperar a maioria deles, mas estamos tentando encontrar mais e mais pessoas para ensinar. Meu companheiro e eu temos metas para conversar com mais de 40 pessoas todos os dias na rua e com a ajuda de membros, então esperamos que possamos encontrar aqueles que o Senhor está preparando atraves de todo o trabalho que estamos fazendo.

Progress in Soldati!

This week has been full of miracles! Even though it has been terribly cold these past 2 days, many miracles have happened! 

The progress of our investigators is great to see and we hope the baptisms start this week! Jazmin should be baptized this week then we have other possibilities for the next weeks called Emanuel, Eymi, Gustavo, Alfredo, Pablina, Isabel, and Enzo! Alfredo and Pablina are not married but this afternoon we are going to see if we can go and get them married! 

The Lord is blessing us a lot, and I love how we are getting the members involved with every investigator! The members are starting to work a lot with us and we are seeing the growth in the desire to invite people to church in the ward! I love Villa Soldati and I pray that everyone will progress and get baptized!

While I was studying this week, I came across a talk called “The Faithful High Councilor” that talks about giving everything you have to every calling you have in the church. I love the experience the writer shares about President Uchtdorf in it too. It made me think about how I am currently called to be a representative of Jesus Christ and to invite all to come unto Him. And I honestly love it. I am doing the best I can and the Lord is helping me grow and progress in my own life as well. I know every calling we get is inspired and we should do our best to help others in their callings as well.

Progresso em Soldati!

Esta semana foi cheia de milagres! Embora esteja terrivelmente frio nos últimos 2 dias, muitos milagres aconteceram!

O progresso de nossos pesquisadores é ótimo para ver e esperamos que os batismos comecem esta semana! Jazmin deve ser batizada nesta semana, então temos outras possibilidades para as próximas semanas chamadas Emanuel, Eymi, Gustavo, Alfredo, Pablina, Isabel e Enzo! Alfredo e Pablina não são casados ainda, mas esta tarde vamos ver se podemos casá-los!

O Senhor está nos abençoando muito, e eu adoro como estamos envolvendo os membros com cada investigador! Os membros estão começando a trabalhar muito conosco e estamos vendo o crescimento no desejo de convidar as pessoas para a igreja na Ala! Adoro Villa Soldati e oro para que todos progridam e sejam batizados!

Enquanto eu estava estudando esta semana, encontrei um discurso intitulado "O Fiel Sumo Conselheiro" que fala sobre dar tudo o que você tem para todos os chamados que você tem na igreja. Eu amo a experiência que o escritor compartilha sobre o presidente Uchtdorf também. Isso me fez pensar sobre como atualmente sou chamado para ser um representante de Jesus Cristo e convidar a todos a vir a Ele. E eu honestamente amo isso. Eu estou fazendo o melhor que posso e o Senhor está me ajudando a crescer e a progredir na minha própria vida também. Eu sei que cada chamado que recebemos é inspirado e devemos fazer o nosso melhor para ajudar os outros em seus chamados também.

Watchmen on the Tower

Hello! 

Villa Soldati is going well! Elder Freitas and I get along great. We are working a lot and sharing the gospel with many people. What I love is that we are working really well with the members right now, like they love how there are two Brazilians working together in the villa! Maybe its because Elder Freitas and I are trying to show our love to everyone and are doing a bunch of things for the members. Well, it is working. :)

Tonight we have a family home evening with a member family and they are inviting a couple they met so that should be great! But yeah, the work is going great!

This week in my studies, I came across Ezekiel 33 and 34 in the Old Testament. The stories of the watchmen and the shepherd were very interesting to me because it made me think about how I am a watchmen and also a shepherd as a missionary. Now these two chapters are very direct, but I learned a lot from them, about how we are here to do the same thing all the prophets of old have done, and that is to declare repentance and baptism to everyone!

In Ezekiel 33: 1-6 says:

1 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

My calling is a sacred one; I honestly love what I do. I love sharing the gospel and being a missionary of the Lord! I know this work is true, I know the gospel was restored.

Our investigators are progressing well! The ones that we are working with now are Isabel, Eymi and Gustavo, Emanuel, and Jazmin. Emanuel was a miracle we had and I do not remember if I told you how we found him. We were looking for a reference and we were knocking on a door. We knocked and knocked on this one apartment door in the villa, all of a sudden the door behind us opens up, and it was Emanuel. He recently moved from Jujuy, Argentina, because he felt like he needed a change in his life. And we found him the same week he moved! He came to church and has a baptismal date for the first of July!

This week we will work, work, and work! Talk to everyone! Woo!

My great friend Elder Steele is going home this week! He was a great missionary! We did divisions this week with them and with Almagro!

We have leaks in our pension! There is water coming from five different spots in our apartment! We talked to the owner and she said that a pipe broke so I hope they get it fixed soon. We are managing now with these two, the biggest ones, with a couple containers and our bucket. However, if the other grow as well, I don’t know what we are going to do.

Olá!

Villa Soldatti está indo bem! Elder Freitas e eu nos damos bem. Estamos trabalhando muito e compartilhando o evangelho com muitas pessoas. O que eu amo é que estamos trabalhando muito bem com os membros agora, como eles amam como dois brasileiros estão trabalhando juntos na vila! Talvez seja porque o Élder Freitas e eu estamos tentando mostrar nosso amor a todos e estamos fazendo um monte de coisas para os membros. Bem, está funcionando. :)

Hoje à noite, temos uma noite familiar com uma família de membros e eles estão convidando um casal que conheci, então isso deve ser ótimo! Mas sim, o trabalho está indo bem!

Esta semana em meus estudos, encontrei em Ezekiel 33 e 34 no Antigo Testamento. As histórias dos vigias e do pastor foram muito interessantes para mim, porque me fez pensar sobre como eu sou um vigia e também um pastor como missionário. Agora, esses dois capítulos são muito diretos, mas aprendi muito com eles, sobre como estamos aqui para fazer o mesmo que todos os profetas dos antigos fizeram, e isso é declarar o arrependimento e o batismo para todos!

Em Ezequiel 33: 1-6 diz:

1 E veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

2 Filho do homem, fala aos filhos do teu povo, e dize-lhes: Quando eu fizer vir a espada sobre a terra, e o povo da terra tomar um homem dos seus termos, e o constituir por seu atalaia,

3 E ele vir que a espada vem sobre a terra, e tocar a trombeta, e avisar o povo,

4 E aquele que ouvir o som da trombeta, não se der por avisado, e vier a espada, e o tomar, o seu sangue será sobre a sua cabeça.

5 Ele ouviu o som da trombeta, e não se deu por avisado, o seu sangue será sobre ele; mas o que se dá por avisado salvará a sua vida.

6 Porém, quando o atalaia vir que vem a espada, e não tocar a trombeta, e não for avisado o povo, e a espada vier, e levar uma vida dentre eles, este tal foi levado na sua iniquidade, porém o seu sangue demandarei da mão do atalaia.

Meu chamado é um sagrado; Eu sinceramente amo o que eu faço. Eu amo compartilhar o evangelho e ser missionário do Senhor! Eu sei que este trabalho é verdade, eu sei que o evangelho foi restaurado.

Nossos investigadores estão progredindo bem! Os que estamos trabalhando agora são Isabel, Eymi e Gustavo, Emanuel e Jazmin. Emanuel foi um milagre que tivemos e não me lembro se eu lhe contei como o encontramos. Estávamos à procura de uma referência e estávamos batendo na porta. Nós batemos e batemos na porta de um apartamento na vila, de repente a porta atrás de nós se abre, e era Emanuel.
