Conference

This week was alright, nothing really happened honestly apart from Conference. We also had to go to the medical center because my companion’s back is all messed up. So we pretty much lost a day just traveling there, but what are you going to do? Sometimes you just have to go do stuff like that, but I’m doing fine. Personally I’m healthy and just alright.

I’m starting to see this one point that some elders get too about a year into their mission, which is when you just realize that you’re doing the same thing every single day and there isn’t really any change from it, and that’s totally true; we do the exact same things every day, but I’ve still got a lot of time so I don’t want to think like that right now! I’m just tired; it’s been a long week.

Conference this year was good; I didn’t get to watch much of it though. I only watched like 2 and a half sessions, the first Saturday one then the 2 Sunday ones. I didn’t even see the prophet talk! But I did hear about the 4 new temples, that’s pretty awesome! But yeah we watched the first session Saturday then we had to go work that night. We had some important contacts that we had to go too so we decided to not watch the second session. Then in the Sunday morning session we lost like the first half hour of it because we went to a member’s house and the internet wasn’t working! Then the last session we watched all tranquilo. This year I decided to watch it all in Spanish too so that was hard but it was good too.

This is the only transfer that is going to be 8 weeks. So we have 2 weeks more this transfer!

Our investigators are doing alright. A couple fell through but we have the opportunity to meet new people every day! If you just keep praying for us that would be awesome, thanks so much!

I would love to talk about 2 of the conference talks, well points that stood out to me in the conference. They were both from the last session. The first was something that Elder Gong said. These were not his exact words but what I got from it is that he talked about how we need to ask again. We need to ask again, and pray again to know things again, because yes, we might know the Book of Mormon is true, but maybe we haven’t felt that confirmation in a year. We need to keep asking because the answer to some things might change, or they might come with a stronger feeling. The second one I liked was Elder Holland’s, the last talk this conference. I really like the fire he has when he speaks. (But personally I miss Elder Perry because he was the best, always talking about family) but something he said that stood out to me was how the Lord blesses those who want to do better. Now this is simple, but we have to remember that at all times. Like me, as a missionary, I know that at the end of some days I could have done better. I could have done more or I could have done something different, but that’s why I’m here, I’m here to learn, the 2 years that I’m going to be here in Argentina are so I can learn and become the best person I can be. I hope we can all ask ourselves if we did better today than we did yesterday, because that’s how it should be.

Esta semana foi tudo bem, nada realmente aconteceu honestamente além da Conferência. Nós também tivemos que ir para o centro médico, porque as costas do meu companheiro está fora do lugar. Então nós praticamente perdemos um dia inteiro para viajar até lá, mas o que eu posso fazer? Às vezes você apenas tem que ir fazer coisas assim, mas eu estou indo bem. Pessoalmente, eu estou saudável e tudo está bem.

Estou começando a chegar num ponto que alguns Elderes chegam quando se aproximam da marca de um ano na missão, que é quando você percebe que você está fazendo a mesma coisa todos os dias e não há realmente nenhuma mudança, e isso é totalmente verdade; fazemos as mesmas coisas todos os dias, mas eu ainda tenho um monte de tempo, então eu não quero pensar assim agora! Eu só estou cansado; tem sido uma longa semana.

A Conferência deste ano foi boa; Embora eu não tenha conseguido assistir muito dela. Eu só assisti mais ou menos 2 sessões e meia, as de sábado de manhã, e as 2 do domingo. Eu nem sequer vi o profeta falar! Mas eu ouvi sobre os 4 novos templos, isso é muito legal! Mas sim nós assistimos a primeira sessão de sábado, em seguida, tivemos de ir trabalhar naquela noite. Tivemos alguns contatos importantes que tivemos que ir, por isso decidimos não assistir a segunda sessão. Em seguida, na sessão da manhã de domingo, perdemos a primeira meia hora porque fomos para a casa de um membro e a internet não estava funcionando! Então a última sessão assistimos a tudo tranquilo. Este ano eu decidi assistir tudo em espanhol também e foi difícil, mas foi muito bom.

Esta é a única transferência que vai ser de 8 semanas. Portanto, temos 2 semanas mais esta transferência!

Nossos investigadores estão indo bem. Um casal parou completamente, mas nós temos a oportunidade de conhecer novas pessoas todos os dias! Se vocês continuarem orando por nós seria fantástico, muito obrigado!

Eu gostaria de falar sobre 2 dos discursos da conferência, alguns pontos que se destacaram para mim na conferência. Ambos da última sessão. O primeiro era algo que o Élder Gong disse. Estas não foram suas palavras exatas, mas o que eu senti de uma parte que ele falou é sobre como é preciso perguntar novamente. Temos de perguntar de novo, e orar novamente para conhecer as coisas de novo, por exemplo, poderíamos saber que o Livro de Mórmon é verdadeiro, mas talvez nós não sentimos essa mesma confirmação em um ano. Precisamos nos manter perguntando porque a resposta para algumas coisas podem mudar, ou elas podem vir com um sentimento mais forte. O segundo que eu gostei foi de Élder Holland, o último discurso desta conferência. Eu realmente gosto do fogo que ele tem quando ele fala. (Mas pessoalmente eu sinto falta de Elder Perry, porque ele era o melhor, sempre falando sobre a família), mas algo que ele disse que se destacou para mim foi como o Senhor abençoa aqueles que querem ser e fazer melhor. Agora isso é simples, mas temos que lembrar disso em todos os momentos. Como eu, como missionário, eu sei que no final de alguns dias, eu poderia ter feito melhor. Eu poderia ter feito mais ou eu poderia ter feito algo diferente, mas é por isso que estou aqui, eu estou aqui para aprender, os 2 anos que eu vou estar aqui na Argentina são para que eu possa aprender e me tornar a melhor pessoa que eu posso ser. Espero que todos nós possamos nos perguntar se nós fizemos melhor hoje do que ontem, porque é assim que deve ser.
