A Lot of People!

This week in Del Viso has been full of blessings and full of growth too. Elder Ellis and I have really been working hard, we have actually found a lot of people this week!

Right now we are basically overflowing with investigators which is a blessing but at the same time is making things complicated because we don’t have time to go to everyone, so we are trying to work with the members to see if they can help us visit them. 

The hardest part is that we are working with 8 families who aren’t married! That’s crazy! They are Javier and Daniela, Jesica with David, Pricilla with Brian, Ricardo, Andrea, Maria, Lorena, Marisol with Hernan, and Zully! That’s not counting the other people we are working with too that are Thomas, Maira, Cinthia, Milton, Jose, Sharon, Brisa, Patricia, and Victor with Cinthia. We have so many people! And they can’t get married yet... we went to the civil office center and people can’t get married until January, which make things harder, but they all have signs of progress as well. 

Don’t get me wrong, I’m so grateful for them because this is a great blessing we’ve been praying for! We’ve just been trying to space it out our appointments with different days of the week to get everyone. We are also trying to get members to go and visit them because we don’t have time sometimes. That’s been working great so far, we are working better with the members and they are helping us out with our investigators. It’s a problem we have of not having enough time for everything, but we are doing our best. The hard thing is getting people to Church. That’s been super difficult... but prayers have been helping us out a lot! Thank you!

Del viso is a great area, we are starting to see the potential of it more and more every day. We are talking to the President and he is thinking of putting other Elders here with us, because of how big the area is and because of how we are having a hard time seeing everyone. I’m really glad to be here to see the work of the Lord flourishing.

This really makes me think about a talk I heard over and over again from Elder Uchtdorf this week called “Fourth floor, last door”. Mom had told me about it, and I invite everyone to listen to this talk because it’s one of my favorites now! It was given in the Women session of the last General Conference! Being able to train Elder Ellis has been great this transfer. Being a trainer is a really different experience because you have to do a lot of extra things, but these transfers have really humbled me and have helped me grow because it makes me realize that I need to put more trust in the Lord then in myself. I love the mission and everything I’ve learned out here! It’s not easy, but it’s worth it! :D

Elder Ayres

Pics 1 to 3 - We had a “noche de hogar” (Family Home Evening) with an investigator family last week! They are great, the mom is the only one that’s a member, so we are trying to get them all to Church!

Pics 4 to 7 – These are pictures of us at a member’s house for lunch and a picture of the area. Then the other ones are us walking in the sun! It’s hot already and I love it!

Pics 8 to 10 – Today we played soccer and ping-pong with other Elders! It was really fun and relaxing.

Esta semana em Del Viso foi repleta de bênçãos e de crescimento também. Elder Ellis e eu realmente estamos trabalhando duro, nós encontramos um monte de gente esta semana!

Agora estamos basicamente transbordando de investigadores, o que é uma bênção, mas ao mesmo tempo está complicando as coisas porque não temos tempo para ir a todos, por isso estamos tentando trabalhar com os membros para ver se eles podem nos ajudar a visitar essas familias.

A parte mais difícil é que estamos trabalhando com 8 famílias que não são casadas! Isso é louco! São Javier e Daniela, Jessica com David, Pricilla com Brian, Ricardo, Andrea, Maria, Lorena, Marisol com Hernan e Zully! Isso não está contando as outras pessoas com quem estamos trabalhando, que são Thomas, Maira, Cinthia, Milton, José, Sharon, Brisa, Patricia e Victor com Cinthia. 

Temos tantas pessoas! E eles não podem se casar ainda ... fomos ao centro e cartório civil e as pessoas não podem se casar até janeiro, o que torna as coisas mais difíceis, mas todos eles têm sinais de progresso também.

Não me interpretem mal, eu sou tão grato por eles, porque esta é uma grande bênção que temos orado por tanto tempo! Nós apenas precisamos espaçar nossas visitas com dias diferentes da semana para poder visitar todos. Estamos também trabalhando com membros para ir visitá-los porque não temos tempo às vezes. 

Isso tem funcionado muito bem até agora, estamos trabalhando melhor com os membros e eles estão nos ajudando com nossos investigadores. É um problema que temos de não ter tempo suficiente para tudo, mas estamos fazendo o nosso melhor. O difícil é levar as pessoas à Igreja. Isso tem sido super difícil ... mas as orações têm nos ajudado muito! Obrigado!

Del viso é uma grande área, estamos começando a ver esse potencial mais e mais todos os dias. Estamos conversando com o Presidente e ele está pensando em colocar outros Elderes aqui conosco, por causa de quão grande é a área e por causa de como estamos tendo dificuldades em acompanhar todos os investigadores. Estou muito feliz por estar aqui para ver o trabalho do Senhor florescer.

Isso realmente me faz pensar sobre um discurso que ouvi varias vezes essa semana do Élder Uchtdorf chamado "Quarto andar, última porta". Mamãe me contou sobre isso, e convido a todos a ouvir esta conversa porque é um dos meus discursos favoritos agora! Foi dado na sessão de Mulheres da última Conferência Geral! Ser capaz de treinar Elder Ellis tem sido muito bom nesta transferência. Ser um treinador é uma experiência muito diferente, porque você tem que fazer um monte de coisas extras, mas essas transferências realmente me deixaram mais humilde e me ajudaram a crescer porque me faz perceber que eu preciso colocar mais confiança no Senhor, e não em mim mesmo. Eu amo a missão e tudo o que aprendi aqui! Não é fácil, mas vale a pena!
